How Sugar Causes Obesity

Do You Know Sugar Makes You Obese ?

People try hard control to take low fat food, but still become
obese because they did not reduce their sugar intake.

Sugar is 99% carbohydrate and gram sugar provide 4 calories
of energy.Sugar exists in many form;either naturally or an
ingredient added to foods and drinks during preparation.

The most common form of sugar is sucrose or sugar produced
from the processing of sugar cane.Sugar is frequently found
in beverages such as cordials, syrup, carbonated drinks,
and fruit juices.Sugar is also used to sweeten foods such as
biscuits,cake,jam,chocolates,ice-cream and some breakfast
cereals.

Excessive consumption of foods and drinks added with sugar
may contribute to overweight, obesity and destroys your health.

For example, a can of soft drink contains about 150 calories
with nothing else of nutritional value.Consuming 20 can of soft
drink is equivalent to producing 1 pound of fat in your body.

Excess sugar in the blood is converted into fat.
The body works to maintain a certain level of blood sugar
(glucose) in the blood at all times.Sugary foods and soft
drinks increase the amount of sugar in the blood.
As blood sugar levels rise, the pancreas releases the hormone
insulin, which works to remove the sugar from the blood into
the body's cells.

Once sugar leaves the blood it will either be used straight
away to glycogen for late use as a source of energy,or
stored as fat.

As the amount of sugar in the blood increases, there is less
need to use it to provide energy and more of the sugar
is converted into fat.
